Frozen treat alert! Opening in the space formerly occupied by Bella Gelateria is a new spot for traditional gelato and granita (sorbet-esque shaved ice). With the weather already heating up this season, you better believe that we’ve got our eye on this spot!
Motoretta Gelato pays homage to the quintessential form of transportation in Italy, the ‘motoretta’ scooter. Their gelato is designed with the same “fun and unpretentious” mentality in mind, with each flavour stripped down to its bare ingredients. No gimmicks or added sugar in sight (or taste) – just delicious, handcrafted gelato!
Guests at Motoretta can also enjoy granita, a refreshing frozen treat served with brioche. Honestly, the Sicilian treat pretty much qualifies as a meal of its own.
“By combining Italian tradition with local, seasonal B.C. ingredients, Motoretta not only ensures the highest quality gelato, but celebrates the beauty and rich flavours found right here in our own backyard.”

Naples-born Gelato expert (previously at Bella Gelateria and Passione Gelato) Salvatore Boccarossa will lead the way at Motoretta. With his warm Italian upbringing, education at the Carpigiani Gelato University, and many accolades – we’re positive there’s no one better suited for the job! His passion for bringing handcrafted gelato to life is certainly unparalleled in Vancouver.

Motoretta is the latest venture of Kitchen Table Group, the Vancouver restaurant powerhouse behind local faves like Ask for Luigi, Pourhouse, and Guivane Caffe at the Pacific Rim. Now, the Group is bringing the best BC ingredients and traditional Italian gelato-making techniques to Vancouver.
The gelato shop is slated to open on Thursday, July 7th. We’ll see you there, Vancouver!
