Vancouver’s signature four-day art crawl opens the studios of over 500 artists this fall

Vancouver’s signature arts and culture event is back this November, and it’s completely free to attend! Now in its 29th year, the beloved Eastside Culture Crawl is a staple fall tradition that opens the studios of over 500 artists on the Eastside. Showcasing the work of local and international artists alike, the four-day crawl is a great way to experience the city’s art scene in all its glory.

From watercolour paintings and blown glass to ceramics, printmaking, pottery, furniture, and jewelry, there’s something for every art lover here. And even if your only goal is to get out of the house this November, this visual arts festival is the perfect opportunity for community connection.

Plus, 20 new buildings have been added to the crawl this year, so you have more to explore than ever!

In addition to viewing a diverse array of art, visitors can peruse the crawl for creations for sale, perfect for all kinds of holiday gifts. There will also be a series of workshops, demos, exhibits, and artist talks organized to increase understanding of many art practices on the Eastside. This includes everything from letterpress printing to analog film.

“The festival will welcome visitors into the studios and workshops of Eastside artists in more than 80 registered buildings across the Eastside Arts District – the region bounded by Columbia Street, 1st Avenue, Victoria Drive, and the Waterfront,” explains organizers. “One of the city’s largest and most popular cultural events of the fall season, the Culture Crawl open studios attract and inspire more than 45,000 visitors annually.”

Moving Art/Unity is the festival’s film and video showcase, which will span an online premiere, a preview exhibit from Nov. 6 to 30, the East Van Vodville Cinema, and the Lumiere Festival from Nov. 13 to 16, 2025.

As for this year’s lineup of special events, guests can expect to kick things off with an annual fundraiser, Take Flight, featuring the wildly popular Silent Auction and Art Roulette (Oct. 25 to Nov. 4, 2025).

There will also be a child-friendly workshop series called Studio 101 featuring hands-on artistic experiences, all of which are free.

Whether it’s your first crawl or your hundredth, the Eastside Culture Crawl has something for everyone!
