The school’s Open Courses are available on two free-to-use platforms — EdX and Coursera. Both of these sites allow you to read and review the course content at no cost.

On Coursera, there are actually entire specializations you can enroll in, with 7 months’ worth of material to complete and a certificate at the end. These come with a fee, but you can apply for financial aid on the site.

The courses and specializations available right now include Gender Analytics, iOS App Development, Self-Driving Cars Specialization, and more.

Some recommend that you have a bit of background on the subject before diving into the course, as they do get pretty in-depth.

On EdX, you can take classes for free with the option to upgrade your learning. Some of the classes still have spots available, and some will be released at a later date. Others have been archived, but you can still view the course materials.

U of T also has a bunch of free textbooks and learning modules you can download and read at your own pace. You can see the full list and download them here.
