A huge Trinidadian festival is coming to Toronto & here’s when

The celebrations continue! A huge two-day festival celebrating Trinidad & Tobago is popping up in Toronto this weekend. They’ll be celebrating the 60th Anniversary of independence, culture, and more, of the Trinidad & Tobago diaspora in Canada.

On August 27 and 28, Yonge-Dundas Square will host the Trinbago festival. Attendees can expect a series of events, great food, and of course, music!

So expect some of Toronto’s delicious Trinidadian cuisine. You’ll want to stock up on the Doubles.

On top of all the food choices, there will be Carnival mas band pop-ups, prizes, and giveaways! To commemorate the celebrations, the CN Tower and Toronto sign at Nathan Phillips Square will illuminate in red, white, and black on August 27.

“This significant milestone in the history of Trinidad & Tobago presents an opportunity for our Trinbagonian-Canadian community to highlight and celebrate our accomplishments,” reads its website.

“We are delighted to commemorate our Diamond Jubilee and showcase our rich and diverse culture to all Canadians.”

Festivities begin at 3 pm and end at 8 pm on both days. The event is free to attend so show some love, eat some great food and celebrate!
