If you’ve ever dreamed of a golfing getaway, Brooks Region is where those dreams can come true. There are five courses here— Rolling Hills Golf Course, Duchess Golf Club, Brooks Golf Course, Sage and Thistle Golf Course and Meadows Executive Par 3 Golf Course. Whether you are a newbie golfer or an absolute pro, you’ll find these courses straight-up delightful. Plus, they are all within a short driver’s distance, so you can go course-hopping too.
No matter what your preference is for a summer dip, Brooks Region has you covered. Want to lay on the beach with occasional swims? Head to the Kinbrook Island Provincial Park. Want to wake surf, paddle or dip in the turquoise waters? Rolling Hills Reservoir is for you. Feel like enjoying the cool of the pool? Hit the Bassano Outdoor Pool. Want to get a bit more adventurous? Say hello to Duke of Sutherland Water Park.
Fishing enthusiast or not, it’s hard not to be impressed by the sport when you have feisty 30 pound pike who put up a fight!. That’s what Lake Newell offers – walleye AND giant pike. Opt for the Trebled Life Guided Fishing Tour and spend a whole or half-day sailing on the water while trophy fishing. A chill way to spend a warm summer day.
It is no surprise that Brooks Region is a camper’s paradise. With plenty of provincial parks, the place has a lot to offer to — the rugged adventurer or the leisure lover. If you want to escape the crowds, we suggest exploring Rosemary Campground, Emerson Bridge Park, Cobblestone RV Park or even Scandia Campground..
The Brooks Region has a lavish foodscape. The place is brimming with cozy cafes and exceptional eateries. From popular chains to local businesses, you’ll find it hard to pick faves. And don’t even get us started on the many quality craft brews you can sip on. Brooks Region is home to some premier distilleries and breweries. When a place has been around since dinos walked the earth, you don’t want to miss its unparalleled history. Yes, Dinosaur Provincial Park is one of its most iconic historic sites, but there’s more. Learn about early settlers at the EID Historical Park. Walk along the “River in the Sky”, aka, the Brooks Aqueduct or snag a few photos at the Bassano Dam. Experience Blackfoot culture at Blackfoot Crossing Historical Park. Or Discover the many historical and cultural gems at the Brooks & District Museum.
