8 amazing Edmonton coffee shops to try out around the city

Edmonton has no shortage of amazing coffee shops, and we thought it would be fun to showcase our personal favourites. We hope that you appreciate a good cup of joe as much as we do because these places brew up some amazing stuff.

Here are our picks for 8 of the best coffee shops in Edmonton.

ACE Coffee Roasters

From humble beginnings to multiple locations throughout the city! However, we still recommend their original spot as our top choice, to get a firsthand look at (and maybe even learn a little something about) their roasting process.

Where: 10055 80 Avenue, 11053 86 Avenue and 3696 97 Street (Inside Bountiful Farmers Market)

Lock Stock Coffee

Sitting on Jasper Ave, Lock Stock makes incredible pastries to go alongside your carefully made latté. If you’ve not had it yet, we recommend their kouign amann, which is a crunchy and sweet variation of the traditional croissant. Well, kinda, they’re hard to explain.

Where: 10534 Jasper Avenue

Coffee Bureau

Right across the street from Lock Stock lies Coffee Bureau. It is a no-frills spot that serves up fantastic coffee and opens early during the week, perfect for swinging by on your way to work. Plus, who can say no to a St. Viateur bagel?

Where: 10505 Jasper Avenue

District Café

Just a few blocks away from the previous two, District offers delicious coffee in a contemporary and airy space. Stop in during lunch for a croque madame that you won’t forget anytime soon, or stretch out your experience by getting some brunch on the weekend.

Where: 10011 109 Street

Credo

With multiple locations across the city, Credo is definitely one of the more established coffee shops in Edmonton, and for good reason. While you’re there, you might as well try out one of their house-made pastries, too.

Where: 10134 104 Street, 10350 124 Street, and 10162 100A Street

Rogue Wave

A stone’s throw from the airport, Rogue Wave roasts their coffee in house and spotlights the best varietals from around the world. We recommend that you sign up for one of their tasting events in you want to really dive into the coffee lifestyle.

Where: 11322 119 Street

Transcend

Forget about elevating your next cup of coffee, when you can transcend it. ‘Edmonton’s original specialty coffee roaster’ has been in the game for over 15 years now, with a focus on ethically sourced beans and time-honoured roasting techniques.

Where: 8708 109 Street and 9570 76 Avenue

Little Brick Cafe

A little neighbourhood option to end things off? Why not! Located in the heart of Riverdale, Little Brick has become synonymous with relaxing on the patio after a walk in the River Valley in the summer, and a cozy spot to catch up with friends in the winter.

Where: 10004 90 Street

And that’s our list of the best coffee shops in Edmonton! Did we miss your favourite? Has a new one popped up that we didn’t know about? Let us know for next time!
