Everyone’s got that one fearless friend and if that friend happens to be you, this might be your chance to get a moment in the spotlight. An American reality competition series called Tough As Nails is casting Canadians for the first time ever, but let this be your warning that these challenges are not for the faint of heart.
“The search is on to find Canada’s diamonds in the rough, and redefine what it means to be tough, proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that being tough comes in all shapes and sizes,” says the casting call’s description.
The show, which is hosted and produced by Phil Keoghan from The Amazing Race, puts contestants through the wringer by throwing them into a series of challenges that test their grit, strength, endurance, and mental toughness.

Contestants won’t be competing in the controlled environment of a production studio, either. They’ll be sent out onto real-life job sites where only the most resilient ones will succeed.
There can only be one champion and the grand prize up for grabs is $200,000 and a Ford Super Duty truck.
Canadian citizens can apply to be on the show by submitting an online application, complete with a photo and video. You’ll have to complete the application in one go, so make sure you have your files saved on your computer so they can be easily uploaded.
In the video, you’ll have to answer a series of questions about yourself, like the biggest life-changing moments you’ve ever experienced and the challenges you’re currently facing. The show’s casting website has also provided some tips for filming the perfect video.
If you don’t think you have what it takes to be on Tough As Nails (don’t worry, we don’t blame you), MTV is also inviting Canadians to appear on a new global dating now.
What are you waiting for? This could be your ticket to fame!
