History is being made in Toronto’s historic district. Canada’s only Curio by Hilton will soon become the first hotel to ever be built in the Distillery and will occupy the last remaining heritage building to be restored in the district.

The hotel will be 31 storeys tall and the first three floors will be preserved with the existing brick exterior of the building, which was originally built in 1890.

It’ll have nearly 400 guest rooms, a rooftop bar, and a restaurant with a patio and sweeping views of the city.

Other amenities at the hotel include a “world-class” spa and gym, ballrooms, a main floor restaurant and lounge, and of course, convenient access to the Distillery District.

The hotel will be located at 60 Mill St and construction is set to begin in just a few months’ time in mid-2022. More details about the amenities, features, and updates on its opening will be released in the coming months.

This is one of several exciting new destinations set to open in the city this year.

Canada’s first W Hotel plans to open in Yorkville in March and the first NOBU Hotel & Restaurant is also said to be opening sometime in 2022.

If you plan to check these places out, it could be the perfect opportunity to make use of Ontario’s new staycation tax credit.
