A new Finnish-inspired Nordic spa near Toronto is looking to wash away your blues as it whisks you into warmth and relaxation.

The Vettä Nordic Spa has finally opened in Oro-Medonte. The spa is said to have one of the largest authentic wood-burning saunas in North America, plus all kinds of Finnish-inspired experiences to help you soak your stress away.

The property is nestled in the highlands of Horseshoe Valley just an hour north of Toronto and an hour from Muskoka, making you feel as if you’ve truly escaped from the city without having to travel too far.

According to the spa, guests can immerse themselves in a hydrotherapy experience that offers professional massages by RMT’s, steam rooms, saunas, warm pools, cold plunge pools, salt rubs, a hot stone room, multiple relaxation areas, and outdoor wood-burning fire pits.

There are 12 massage treatment rooms, the hot stone room where you can enjoy a treatment in between soaks.

You’ll also have two eateries to choose from when you’re ready to grab a bite — the Kiovu Restaurant with two outdoor patios, and the in-spa Savu Bistro overlooking the waterfall, plus the grab-and-go coffee bar.

With Vettä’s mission to “nurture and nourish the mind, body and spirit,” it says it has an added emphasis on the culinary experience offered. The spa will feature “forest foraged delicacies including freshly-picked mushroom medleys, preserved berries, locally-sourced and ecologically-produced vegetables, responsibly raised grass-fed meats, and smoked and fresh fish.”
