Experience all the wildlife you can imagine in one location! At a whopping 287 hectares, the Toronto Zoo is the largest zoo it all of Canada. They encompass their internal brand, which is “One Toronto Zoo (1TZ)” and is based on four “cares”.

The Zoo cares about the animals, about the team, about the guests, and about the community. They connect people, animals and conservation science to fight extinction. And they envision a world where wildlife and wild spaces thrive.

What To Expect

The Toronto Zoo is made up of seven zoogeographic regions: Indo-Malaya, Africa, Americas, Tundra Trek, Australasia, Eurasia, and the Canadian Domain. Within each, you’ll find a diverse range of species native to the region. 

You can walk the entirety of the park, or hop on the Zoomobile for a guided tour.

The Toronto Zoo also focuses on Animal Enrichment, Animal Welfare, and Plant Life. You can get involved in the non-profit mission of the zoo by checking out their Wildlife Conservatory, Adopting an Animal, or Volunteering in the Fight Against Extinction.

During COVID-19, in-person events are halted but the Zoo has a great deal of online offerings through the Zoo To You programming.
