This Ontario town has 70 km of shoreline & five beach parks

Looking for a quick beach getaway? If you’ve done Wasaga and Sauble more times than you can count, it’s about time you switch things up and head to Tiny, Ontario instead.

Why Tiny, you ask? Despite its name, this township is home to 70 km of gorgeous shoreline.

It’s located around two hours from Toronto just a short distance past Barrie, making it the perfect spot for a day trip.

There are five beach parks in the area — Woodland Beach, Bluewater Beach, Jackson Park, Balm Beach and Lafontaine Beach Park.

With their pristine sand and shallow water, these beaches are ideal for laying out and cooling off in the sun.

At Balm Beach, you can dine at the Balm Beach Bar & Smokehouse overlooking the water or spend a night at the Balm Beach Resort.

Tiny is also an ideal place for nature lovers, with over 814.23 acres of parkland within 162 park sites across the township.

The town hosts all kinds of fun events throughout the summer, including Canada Day festivities on July 1st, and a Poutine Fest on July 9th.

In August, you can check out Ribfest and the Tugboat Festival in the nearby town of Midland.
