This iconic Seattle bakery is closing after 100 years

We’re all pretty used to restaurant and business closures these days. But it hurts a bit extra when it’s spots that are backbones of the city. Unfortunately, Seattle’s iconic Borracchini’s Bakery is closed permanently.

Borracchini’s Bakery made the announcement via Facebook citing that the lack of parties meant no businesses. After all, this spot was known for its sheet cakes. And while people are still celebrating, it’s not enough to keep them going in the way things were before.

So after 100 years, this spot will be no more. Beyond a loss of options for cake, it’s sad to see Seattle lose a centennial business. Because at this point, the city has relatively few, especially in the food industry. So let this be a reminder to continue supporting those businesses that you love.
