Enjoying a log built-stay in the fall is practically a right of passage for all Albertans so with the season in full swing, consider a magical weekend escape to the Burch Forest, where a whimsical cabin rental awaits!

Located just outside of Drayton Valley, about an hour away from Edmonton, this stunning property has two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a catalogue of outdoorsy features to keep you busy enough to unplug and wind down.

For $275 CAD per night, guests can go canoeing, trout fishing (limit of 2 catches) or take a walk along one of the many trails in and around the area, all of which are open year-round.

There’s also a wood-fired hot tub, where you can really relax and an outdoor firepit with games for before or after you cook dinner in the fully furnished kitchen or on the BBQ.

Of course, because this place gets pretty busy it is worth noting that there are even more things to do in the summer and winter months.

If for whatever reason, you’re unable to book before the snow falls – you’ll still be in for a ton of fun after the ground is covered in white!

With the water frozen over, lace up your skates for a game of pond hockey or snowshoeing! In the summer, go swimming in the pond and enjoy the sun out on the dock – as we said, there’s a ton to do and see no matter the month or day!

Dogs are allowed and so are guests that exceed the 4 person limit as long as you’re willing to pay a $50 fee – so you can also make a big group trip out of it.

For more information or more photos of the property, you can visit the VRBO cabin rental listing here or their Instagram here.

Get out there and enjoy, Alberta. We’re incredibly lucky to live in the province that we do so you should really experience the best it has to offer. Happy staycationing!
