We made it to the first weekend of June, folks! If the warmer weather has you ready to get out and about this weekend, we feel you – and we’ve got plenty of fun things to do in Vancouver to toss your way! Come rain or shine, we’re ready to start the month off right.
Whether you head to The Polygon for their newest exhibit, the PNE for some roller derby action, or chill at a park with a wine and cheese spread (sharing optional), you’re sure to start off the month on a great note.

A new multi-media, immersive exhibit is coming to The Polygon this weekend. Ghosts of the Machine explores our evolving relationship with technology and burgers viewers to reflect on its impact on our everyday lives.

The Indiana rapper Freddie Gibbs is coming to Vancouver on Friday, June 3rd. His hard-hitting production and lyricism certainly make for a great kickstart to the month!

Richmond Museum presents the 15th annual Doors Open Richmond, an event featuring a behind-the-scenes look into Richmond’s diverse cultural heritage. Over 35 sites will be open to the public, so get ready for a tour of historic buildings and homes, bakeries, art galleries, and more.
When: In-person events from Saturday, June 4th to Sunday, June 5th
Where: Various locations in Richmond
Cost: Free!
Speaking of Richmond, the Night Market is always a good idea to plan out as the weekend approaches! This year (as always) has some amazing street food and attractions to check out.

Rolla Skate Club presents Vancouver’s first-ever roller derby at the PNE this weekend, so put on your rollerskates and get in on the action! Participants in the event include some of the city’s founding mothers of roller derby themselves. The day will commence with an all-ages skate from 6 to 7 pm, followed by the derby from 7 to 8:30 pm, and ending with a 19+ skate until 10 pm.

The not-so-secret’s out…you can legally drink in these designated parks all spring and summer long. Gather your friends and your white claws and head to the beach!

The warmer weather has definitely got us in the ‘pub crawl mood,’ if that’s a thing. Why not get the gang together and enjoy the heat with an accompanying flight of delicious, craft brews?!

Kafka’s is a Vancouver staple in the coffee world, and they’ve recently announced the opening of their newest location at the Smithe-Richards park in Yaletown. We think a walk around False Creek is definitely in order, with a stop for a pick-me-up in the form of a caffeinated bevvy.

It’s not too late to snag tickets to the 2022 Oxford Properties Canadian Squash Championships! The games are being held outdoors for the first time in its history via the all-glass Power Court at Jack Poole Plaza. Plus, food and a beer garden. We rest our case.

Looking for an excuse to get outside and shop? Look no further! New Gen’s Summer Series Markets are kicking off this Saturday, June 4th.
Located 6 blocks apart on Bute Street, 2 markets will feature 40+ local vendors. Best of all? By shopping at the markets you’ll not only be supporting local small businesses but also Hello Doxie Rescue Society – a 100% volunteer organization that rescues and rehomes long dogs in need, worldwide.
