Carnaval del Sol 

Who’s ready for a massive summertime fiesta? Vancouver non-profit Latincouver is celebrating its 15th anniversary with a ton of exciting events this July, including its own version of the popular Carnaval del Sol festival. Get ready to dance to over 300 live artists, ranging from traditional salsa and merengue to beats by a surprise guest DJ!

Cost: $30 to $35 for opening night, $15 for Saturday and Sunday admission

Vancouver’s largest free music and arts festival is back along West 4th Avenue this July with over 50 food vendors, pop-up shops, art displays, and beer gardens. Every year, the celebration brings together the best local artists, live entertainment, and food for a massive summer celebration.

Symphony at Sunset

This free event at Sunset Beach is one of Vancouver’s staples, and the summer wouldn’t be complete without it. Last year, 15,000 attendees gathered at Sunset Beach Park to enjoy beautiful classical music led by VSO Music Director, Maestro Otto Tausk.

This year, the VSO has arranged a fantastic program with selections ranging from the William Tell Overture to beloved movie scores of Star Wars, Jurassic Park, and Ben Hur. So grab your picnic gear and treats, and hit the beach sooner rather than later in the day. Spots are first-come-first-served.

Vancouver Craft Beer Week 

Though last year’s event did not go as planned, Vancouver Craft Beer Week is back with a one-day festival this July, and is prepared to maximize the guest experience. No tokens, no drink payments once inside, and free water. Enter over 150 craft beer and cider tastings, plus food trucks and live music.

Vancouver Bubble Tea Festival

Canada’s largest bubble tea festival returns to Burnaby this July, and visitors can taste over a dozen different bubble tea vendors, as well as a ton of delicious street eats. And, as a final bonus, there will be a range of activities, performances, and events to check out too, from outdoor games to even a pearl judging contest.

Free nights at Vancouver Art Gallery 

Thanks to a new partnership with BMO, the Vancouver Art Gallery has launched free admission to the public on the first Friday of every month, from 4 pm to 8 pm. The next free Friday night will be on July 7th  so mark your calendars and get ready to enjoy some after-work art!

This one-day festival sells out year after year, and we’re sure that 2023 will be no exception. Tickets are now on sale for just under $200 each, so snag some while you can! Participating restaurants include Anh and Chi, Boulevard Kitchen & Oyster Bar, Paella Guys, Two River Meats, and much more – with even more to come!

Festival Afloat

Who’s ready for a summer concert on the water? A mobile concert series is setting sail this July, and it’s coming to Jericho Beach (Iy̓ál̓mexw, ʔəy̓alməxʷ). Slated to perform at Festival Afloat 2023 are returning artists like Juno-nominee Desirée Dawson and Renee Layla, who guests can paddle out to listen to or enjoy from the beach. As well, there will be some new performers in the mix – so stay tuned!

Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Too $hort & More – H.S. Reunion Tour 2023 

While this show will cost you a pretty penny, we’re betting it’s worth every cent. On Friday, July 7th, hip-hop and R&B legends Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, and Too $hort take the stage at Rogers Arena, in addition to several other performing artists as part of their H.S. Reunion Tour.

Shipyards Night Market

The beloved Shipyards Night Market is now in its prime after a three-year hiatus, and there are plenty of summer dates to check out for its 10th anniversary. Visitors can once again enjoy their iconic beer garden and outdoor market, and peruse the many mouthwatering food trucks in attendance. As well, the market is bringing back live music and DJs – so consider your Friday night plans made.
