The only thing better than an open-air concert during the summer is a free outdoor concert, and fortunately for Vancouver, there are plenty to choose from. And now, this year’s Symphony at Sunset is officially in the mix!

The free event at Sunset Beach is one of Vancouver’s staples, and the summer wouldn’t be complete without it. Last year, 15,000 attendees gathered at Sunset Beach Park to enjoy beautiful classical music led by VSO Music Director, Maestro Otto Tausk.

This year, the VSO has arranged a fantastic program with selections ranging from the William Tell Overture to beloved movie scores of Star Wars, Jurassic Park, and Ben Hur. So grab your picnic gear and treats, and hit the beach sooner rather than later in the day. Spots are first-come-first-served.

If you’re looking for another free classical concert to enjoy this summer, be sure to check out Burnaby’s Symphony in the Park, which is happening just a week later.

So there you have it, Vancouver! Don’t forget to bring some layers.
