On Monday, June 13th, the world’s fave Marvel star is making his way to Vancouver on one of the last stops in his book tour, We Were Dreamers. (ICYMI, it’s Simu Liu). We can’t wait to learn about his experiences and maybe even get a little expos√© on the world of Hollywood.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Yup, Bard on the Beach is finally back – and this week marks the official opening dates of the first Shakespearean play the festival will show: A Midsummer Night’s Dream. While the premiere on Thursday, June 16th is sold out, there are still tickets available for Friday, June 17th! Grab ’em while you can.

Unleash your inner child at Science World’s iconic adults-only event surrounded by cool exhibits and fun libations.

OURO Collective

OURO Collective’s newest mixed media piece titled “7y98D” dives into the impacts of climate change through film storytelling and street dancing. It begins with a ten-minute short film directed by Dave Ehrenreich and Jeff Hamada, followed by a fifty-minute stage piece choreographed by RubberLegz and performed by OURO Collective. Lastly, there’s an art wear exhibition by Jennifer Latour.

Grab after-work drinks in Mount Pleasant

It’s no secret that Mount Pleasant is home to some of the biggest names in local craft brews in Metro Van. Why not get the gang together for a couple of pints? It might not be the prettiest patio weather, but plenty of them are covered.

Contemporary Art Gallery

Bring a friend or a date to Contemporary Art Gallery and check out an exhibition this week. Currently, Abbas Akhavan and Michelle Bui have exhibitions going, or there’s the Curational Tour with CAG Executive Director Matthew Hyland, which previews all the summer exhibitions slated for this year. Pop in for a spell and learn more about what inspires contemporary artists in Vancouver!

Planetarium Star Theatre

Check out a Planetarium Star Theatre show at the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre this week – we promise you won’t regret it. In addition to stargazing, you can check out a science demo in their GroundStation theatre, visit the Observatory, and learn more about how astronomers use light to observe stars.
