Well, Edmonton, just like that, it’s mid-August! And that just means we’re seeing more and more summery events, and there is no better time to enjoy it than now. From markets, to the Fringe Festival, and ESO Outdoors, here are the best things to do in Edmonton this week!
Hailing from Punjab, India, and now living in Vancouver, B.C., singer, rapper and songwriter Karan Aujla is on his “It Was All A Dream World Tour” which stops in Edmonton this week.

For those looking for something a little more funky and indie, you’ll feel right at home at the Edmonton Fringe Festival. The 43rd annual Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival is “set to spotlight 216 theatre productions across 38 venues, with performances by more than 1,600 Artists from right here at home, across Canada, and more than 11 countries!”

One of the summer’s most beloved activities is back in action, so catch it before the season ends! The Edmonton Riverboat is cruising through summer, and you can just pick a cruise option or a dinner buffet. They also have special events on some cruises.

Night markets are taking place in the Alberta Avenue District this August. Each market will have different vendors, entertainment and community partners. So bring the family, and enjoy some food outdoors! Wondering what to expect? On August 16th, it’s Women’s Entrepreneurship Night at 8108 118 Ave. And on August 30th, The Wrap Up Hosted by AFRICARNIVAL taking place at 9210 118 Ave.

The Edmonton Blues Festival is turning 25 and the celebration will take place at the newly created Klondike Park at the Edmonton Exhibition Lands in mid August!
