It’s officially the last weekend of January! And in true Edmonton fashion, it will be quite cold outside. But there’s lots to do in the city, just make sure you’re bundled up! Here are the best things to do in Edmonton this weekend.

WINTERRUPTION

Taking place at venues across the city, this festival is a showcase of amazing talent from Alberta and beyond. Check out the lineup, pick a band/show you like, or go all in and grab a festival wristband.

ILLUMINATURE

This Friday, check out Illuminature 2.0, an interactive night of house music, custom visuals, live art, and handcrafted cocktails and food by the Muttart cafe at Muttart Conservatory. There will be DJs to dance, a tequila bar, and live art. This event is 18+.

ICE ON WHYTE

The Ice on Whyte Festival is back! At the end of this month, some amazing ice sculptors will be creating stunning pieces all along Whyte Ave.

SNOW WAY OUT

It’s the last weekend to check out Downtown Edmonton’s first snow maze in the Fan Park, directly next to Rogers Place! The massive 75’x75’ Oilers themed maze includes multiple photo opportunities, a slide, and a locker room.

ALT AFTER DARK NIGHT MARKETS

The Alt After Dark Night Markets features 35 local alternative vendors, artists, designers and brewers. Support local! It starts at 7 PM.

ACC ICE WALL

Edmonton’s Ice Wall is unique attraction that is the perfect combination between the thrills of ice climbing! Whether you’re already into climbing or just wanna try something new, they’ve got options for everyone.

HEAVENLY MOZART

Part of Symphony for Kids, this is a family friendly event! “Imagine a little night music, twinkling stars, and a planet or two … Mozart’s music is beloved around the world, and his gift to us is a bit of heaven right here on earth,” states the event description.

WINTER WAGON RIDES

Enjoy twinkling lights strung up around Fort Edmonton Park’s historic streets, while bundled up in a festive horse-drawn wagon ride throughout the entire park!

EDMONTON CHINATOWN DINING WEEK

Starting on January 26th, businesses around the city will be participating in Edmonton’s Chinatown Dining Week and will be offering $20 or $10 specials. Of note, offers are valid for dine-in only during certain hours, pick-up only, or both!

WINTER CITY WEEKENDS 

Winter City Weekends is hosted by EAC at Churchill Square! It has family friendly programming every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, where you can get on the ice and groove to some of Edmonton’s best musicians and DJs. And they also offer free skates!
