Just a few weeks ago we announced the exciting return of the Space Needle New Year’s Eve fireworks. The good news is that they’re still firing off in person, however this year you’re encouraged to watch from home. Especially because there are some new celebratory additions that you’ll only be able to see through your screen. Let’s get into some details.

This year, the Space Needle will do their live fireworks display accompanied by AR effects that are only visible through a screen. What’s unique about this show is that it will be the “first-ever live fireworks show to be augmented and broadcast live with exclusive special effects.” Think of it as getting the best of both worlds, a live display, and a one-of-a-kind digital experience.

Now here’s the deal, the grounds at Seattle Center will be closed to dissuade crowds. However, the Space Needle has created some neighborhood watch parties and is encouraging folks to watch the celebration at home or at respective NYE parties. So far the only official viewing party is taking place at the Queen Anne Beerhall.

When it comes to watching at home, you’ll be able to catch the show broadcast live on KING 5 as well as on king5.com and on the KING 5 app. If you’d like to learn more about this year’s New Year’s Eve fireworks you can click here. Happy holidays folks!
