Remember the tunnel boring machine naming contest? Well, the Seattle Department of Transportation needs your help and creativity again. This time, the city is looking for a name for a new protected bike lane sweeper. And while you can no longer submit original names you can vote for your favorites.

The new protected bike lane sweeper is a mini version of the street sweepers that you see cruising Seattle streets during the summer. It’s designed to fit perfectly in protected bike lanes and helps keep the road clear and clean so that you can bike to your heart’s content. For that reason, the new machine needs a great name.

Right now the contest is in the final four which runs until tomorrow, May 20th. You can vote on the names Sir Sweeps-A-Lot, Sweepless in Seattle, Sweepy McSweepface, and OK Broomer. As you can see each is pretty dang punny. And the championship naming will take place next Monday, May 24th.

Be sure to get in on the voting fun while you can. And we can’t wait to see what name Seattlites choose for our cities newest protected bike lane sweeper. If you’d like to vote or learn more about the sweeper you can click here. Have a great week folks!
