Wild Rose Country is geographically diverse and most people here? They’re not too bad either, but don’t just take our word for it! As it turns out, we’ve made quite the impression on some major names – including the cast and crew of ‘The Last Of Us.’

Filmed entirely in Alberta, HBO’s new hit series is critically acclaimed and widely considered one of the best shows on television right now – but to cities across the province, it’s so much more than just a really good series.

Luckily, the love is mutual!

While it’s certainly not the first time the showrunners or even lead actors have raved about the time they spent in Calgary, Edmonton, Canmore and its surrounding areas – we couldn’t help but feel all warm and fuzzy listening to them discuss Alberta on a recent episode of Sony’s Creator to Creator.

“We had these physical locations. We had the real mountains, the real woods, the real river, the real snow,” said Pedro Pascal, who plays Joel.

“You dressed entire areas of downtown Calgary and Edmonton!” he continued, talking to showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Drunkmann.

During the panel, they also discussed how polite the residents were while filming despite them shutting down major areas, like the ones downtown as mentioned above.

“But they loved it – they said sorry to us,” Mazin said.

If you’d like to watch the entire interview, where they also discuss how similar the sets were to the video game from which it was adapted, you can check it out above.

Otherwise, catch the series on Crave or on HBO via their local TV Provider on Sundays at 9:00 pm ET – but bring tissues!

This show is not your average “zombie” show.
