It was a sad day for Maple Leaf fans yesterday, as the team was eliminated from the Stanley Cup Playoffs. In a soul-crushing 3-1 loss against the Montreal Canadiens, the Leafs ended their journey in Game 7 of the series. In case you’re not in the know, the Maple Leafs held a commanding 3 games to 1 lead in the series, before the Canadiens stormed back to win three straight in dramatic fashion. To no surprise, folks online had a lot to say about it.

One of the funniest tweets of the night was in reference to the Maple Leafs allowing 550 fully-vaccinated frontline workers to the game, making it the first live audience at a sporting event in Toronto in over a year.

Of course, Habs fans were singing a different tune…

Fireworks were going off outside Montreal’s Bell Centre.

At the end of the day, good sportsmanship wins out. It was a wild ride, Toronto.
