Filming for HBO’s The Last of Us is in full swing here in Calgary and up until now, we’ve managed to steer clear of all spoilers and more importantly any expectations. Now, we’re not going to lie. After hearing that this particular show could be the most expensive in all of history, we immediately assumed that the first true teaser we would get would be a scene mid-explosion, gunfight, or torrential downpour – but that’s not what we saw here.

Though there will likely be much chaos throughout the series, this particular shot – confirmed by HBO and Naughty Dog president Neil Drunckmann as the first look of the show, is actually pretty serene – despite the plane wreck in the distance, which was hardly the focal point.

If you’re like us and can’t wait to see what all the buzz is about, it won’t be long! As of right now, The Last Of Us is expected to hit the small screen in 2022, though an exact date has yet to be released.
