And so our countdown to THE countdown begins! With only weeks until we close out the year, the city has made a major announcement regarding their annual New Year’s Eve events and just as we expected, it’s going to be explosive! This December, look to the sky for a ‘bangin’ fireworks display above the Calgary Tower.

“After last year’s fireworks cancellation, we’re thrilled to have the dazzling fireworks show return to ring in 2022,” said Mayor Jyoti Gondek in a press release. “Fireworks on New Year’s Eve lift our spirits and are also a symbolic reminder that brighter days are on the horizon.”

Just as they’ve done in years past, this particular show will be synchronized with a soundtrack that Calgarians can listen to by tuning in to CJSW 90.9 FM at 11:55 pm on December 31st, minutes before they light up the sky.

  • 9 Avenue S.W. south sidewalk, in front of the Calgary Tower
