Boy oh boy, it’s been a year for sports news in Seattle. From the Seattle Kraken to vaccine mandates for games, we’ve seen it all. That being said, it’s been pretty quiet on the baseball front until now. Because get this, T-Mobile Park will host Major League Baseball’s 2023 All-Star Game.

The exciting news comes from sources close to ESPN who have said that Seattle is the chosen city for the MLB’s All-Star Game. The sports network did reach out to the MLB who declined to comment and said they would not confirm that Seattle was the choice. Even as speculation, this is still pretty cool.

The last time an All-Star Game was held in Seattle was in 2001 when our home field was known as Safeco Field. It’s also been a minute since Seattle has had an important baseball game because the last time we made the playoffs was also in 2001. But that being said, our stadium is still regarded as one of the game’s best stadiums despite being nearly a quarter-century old.

So while we’ll take this news with a grain of salt, for the time being, we certainly hope that Seattle is chosen as the game’s city during the finalization process. You can learn more by clicking here.
