The new spot, located at 233 106th Ave NE, promises “crispy, golden tempura” don, which is usually served over a bed of rice, with a modern and regional twist.

“Perfect for tempura lovers and newbies alike,” they state.

Tendon Kohaku opened its first location in Singapore, before expanding into other countries like the Philippines, Malaysia, and Canada.

The restaurant specializes in thin but crispy tempura batter, and has two secret sauce recipes.

“One is rich but refreshing ‘Kohaku Sauce’, complete with just the right amount of brown sugar. The other is appetizing ‘Spicy Sauce’, featuring original spices hitting the perfect spiciness,” their website states.

Their menu features several Tendon sets that include a premium set (with chicken, prawn, crab, and eel) at $28.95, and there is also a salmon tendon set, which is $26.95. There are also a beef set, and a prawn set available, and all can be upgraded to a “Tencha” set for $4.

The menu also includes Japanese Curry, as well as Udon noodles.

You can also expect a Sweet Potato Brulee dessert, and a selection of tea lattes.

Ready to check it out? Note, at this time, they are not taking reservations!
