Now these are some fall views you have to see to believe. Ontario is filled with the best outdoor experiences, especially during the fall season. And one of those experiences just so happens to be in Northeastern Ontario. Temagami Tower is one of the best spots to get gorgeous views of surrounding fall colours and here’s what to know.
Get ready for these unmissable views! According to Destination Ontario, the Temagami Tower and viewing platform is one of the best spots to view the surrounding landscape’s vast forests, dotted with crystal-blue lakes.
You’ll find the tower atop Caribout Mountain which is surrounded by the White Bear Forest. This environment is home to many of Ontario’s oldest pine trees – some are over 500 years old.
It was first built in 1910 out of wood but is now composed of steel beams, marking it as the area’s most famous landmark, according to Destination Ontario.
Per Temagami and District Chamber of Commerce, the tower is 100 feet tall and stands on the summit of Caribou Mountain, 400 feet above the town.
The real reward is when you reach the top. Enjoy a panoramic view of the land below. It’s truly captivating.
Make sure to stop by before the winter season as it closes due to safety reasons.
“However, you may hike up the hill from the chalet (as far as the road is plowed) and visit the viewing platforms at the base of the tower level,” shares Temagami and District Chamber of Commerce.
Looks like your next fall hike has been settled.
