Your summer day trips just got better! ParkBus is bringing back its TD Rouge Express, a free shuttle bus that runs from Toronto to Rouge National Urban Park and the Toronto Zoo from July to late September.

For the next seven weekends starting on Sunday, July 24, the bus will take you from downtown Toronto straight to the park or zoo, completely for free.

To make use of the free shuttle, all you have to do is book your spot in advance online. You will need to provide a $15 credit card deposit to secure your spot, which will be refunded when you arrive to claim your seat.

Those planning to visit the Toronto Zoo must have a pre-purchased ticket prior to boarding the bus.

There will be two free shuttle buses running, one with a pickup time at 9 a.m. and another one at 11:30 a.m., on each of the scheduled days.

The downtown Toronto pickup location is about 100 meters north of the Yonge-Bloor subway entrance, near the Yonge St entrance. Passengers are asked to arrive 15 minutes early to keep things moving on schedule.

Also important to keep in mind that school buses are used for this route, which means no A/C or bathrooms on board. But hey, a free ride is a free ride!

If you’re willing to spend some money, ParkBus also runs coach vehicles to destinations all over Ontario, including Bruce Peninsula’s famous Grotto and Algonquin National Park, which is a pet-friendly route.

Ready to do some summer sightseeing? Book your spot on the TD Rouge Express while you can.
