It’s fruit-picking season in our beautiful province. If you want to pluck your own berries right from the source without venturing too far from the city, Downey’s Strawberry and Apple Farm is the place to go.

This scenic family-owned farm is located just outside of Brampton, but the peaceful country atmosphere will make you feel far away from the city.

Upon arrival, you’ll be given a clean fruit basket to take with you as you venture out into the fields.

The baskets come in various sizes depending on how many people you are visiting with.

Strawberries are the first fruit to ripen in the spring, and Downey’s says that they will be ripe and ready for picking around June 20th, 2023.

However, weather can impact growing seasons, so be sure to check for the latest updates from the farm before you visit.

Be sure to wear comfy shoes and weather-appropriate clothes, as you’ll be walking around and picking fruit in the fields until your basket is full.
