The city’s most beloved street festival, Taste of the Danforth is officially coming back to Toronto this summer.

Mark your calendars because Taste of the Danforth returns from August 11 to 13, 2023.

In an email to Curiocity, Mary Fragedakis, Executive Director of the GreekTown on the Danforth BIA, confirmed the dates and shared that they’ll have more information to disclose in the coming weeks.

Toronto City Councillor Paula Fletcher first announced the update on Twitter, sharing her excitement for the beloved event.

“Breaking. Taste of the Danforth a go for 2023,” said Fletcher. “Very happy that Board of Directors of @GreekTownBIA voted today to hire an event planner to assist them to plan and execute this year’s Taste.”

Taste of the Danforth was cancelled back in 2020, and 2021 due to the pandemic.

Though we were looking forward to 2022, the BIA cancelled the event due to the short timeline they had “to adapt the event to the changes in the street” which were “too great a risk of not being as successful as in the past,” according to its site.

As for what to expect this year, we’ll have to wait and see. But if it’s anything like the past, we can only expect the street fest to be better than ever before.
