Maybe it was because we wrote that sandwich guide not too long ago, but we’re super excited to talk about a new sandwich shop in Vancouver. Say hello to Good Times, a new pop-up that has landed in Gastown, and at an already beloved restaurant, to boot! Here’s the scoop.
Basically, the folks behind Tacofino have asked some of their chefs to dream up their favourite sandwiches, and are offering them out of the Gastown location. And while you might be thinking Mexican tortas, they’ve got a whole different lineup in store for you. At least for now, they do.
There are currently five sandwiches available to try. The first two are really catching our attention, since they’re spins on a Japanese sandwich holy grail- katsu. Keep things classic (ish) with a chicken option, or try out one that uses a prawn patty. We’re leaning towards the latter ourselves.

The next two on the list sound as hearty as they do delicious. The use of beef tongue to create a Rueben sandwich is a clever idea, and will hopefully pay off in the flavour department. And meanwhile, the cumin lamb sandwich has a hint of citrus to offset the spice, thanks to a little yuzu mayo.
For the vegetarians among us, fear not! The final sandwich currently in the lineup is a cauliflower po’ boy that uses a buttermilk batter and features some Creole remoulade. If you thought you were getting the short of the stick here, think again.
And last but not least, $2 from each sandwich sold during the first week (including this weekend) will go towards the Van Food & Beverage Community! It pays to eat well, we guess.
When: Open daily, 11:30AM-10PM
Where: 15 W Cordova Street
Options: Available for dine-in, pick up and delivery
