Ready or not: Parts of Alberta to get up to 30 cm of snow before Wednesday

Last week’s wake-up call has just melted, but it won’t be long until the ground is covered in white again because a snowfall warning has just been issued in various parts of Alberta.

As per Environment Canada’s website the following cities, towns and parks can expect some serious powder between now and Wednesday:

  • Airdrie – Cochrane – Olds – Sundre
  • Brooks – Strathmore – Vulcan
  • Cardston – Fort Macleod – Magrath
  • City of Calgary
  • Crowsnest Pass – Pincher Creek – Waterton Lakes Nat. Park
  • Drumheller – Three Hills
  • High Level – Rainbow Lake – Fort Vermilion – Mackenzie Hwy
  • Kananaskis – Canmore
  • Okotoks – High River – Claresholm

“Snow has begun this morning along the Rockies and will spread eastward during the day. 10 to 20 cm of snow is expected by Wednesday evening with the potential for more than 30 cm over mountainous areas,” they wrote.

“Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.”

If, of course, you rely on transit, it’s important to plan ahead in case of delays and dress warm!
