Foodies are in for a huge treat in Toronto this summer! Smorgasburg, America’s largest weekly open-air food market popular in cities like L.A. and Brooklyn, is coming to the city for the first time ever.

Smorgasburg’s Toronto edition will run for eight weeks starting in July, bringing dozens of international food vendors to one place every single Saturday.

The market will occupy a stretch of the waterfront at 7 Queen’s Quay East, right at the foot of Yonge St.

Smorgasburg first launched in 2011 and has launched in many cities and attracted millions of visitors since. The New York Times even dubbed it “The Woodstock of Eating.”

A Sunday market is held every week in downtown Los Angeles with 70 vendors. A Smorgasbar Beer Garden has also popped up in Jersey City. Earlier this year, the first-ever Smorgasburg Miami celebrated its launch.

There are also pop-ups of the event in Osaka, Japan, and Sao Paulo, Brazil and now Toronto, Canada.

Some of the vendors at the Toronto market have already been revealed, including Afrobeat Kitchen, Indonesian’s Flavour, American Classics by Cabano’s, Bread Bar by Noctua, the ever-popular Sunny’s Chinese, and more.

You’ll get to chow down on some of the best international eats in the city with views of the waterfront, just in time for summer.

Smorgasburg now joins the dizzyingly long list of food and drink festivals in Toronto this summer, including Taste of Little Italy, the Filipino Street Festival, Taco Fest, Wine Fest, Jamaican Patty Fest, Waterfront Night Market, and countless other festivals.

We hope you’re hungry because this is not one to miss!
