A vibrant event showcasing the best of the Philippines is coming to North York this weekend. Toronto’s Filipino Street Festival is taking over Little Manila and will fill the neighbourhood with delicious food, great music, and fun cultural experiences.

Put on by the Philippine Legacy and Cultural Alliance (PLACA), this free street festival is one of the most-anticipated Filipino celebrations of the year in the city.

This year’s event promises to be even more fun and meaningful than before, with experiences dedicated to the “unique flavours, history and culture of each Philippine region and the country’s 3 major island groups,” according to PLACA.

As part of the festival, a 1-km stretch of Bathurst Street will be lined with over 120 booths, food vendors, lively street activities, and eye-catching Filipino cultural installations.

Plus, visitors can look forward to colourful and vibrant parades on both Saturday and Sunday.

This annual celebration gets an incredible turnout — we’re talking over 200,000 attendees!

This event is one of several festivals taking place in Toronto this weekend, including OSSFEST, Toronto International BrazilFest, and the Panamerican Food & Music Festival.

So whether you’re part of the community or simply appreciate Filipino culture (and food!), this street-wide celebration is the place you’ll want to be this summer.
