Got your winter gear ready? Good! Ontario’s ski hills are opening early at some resorts and others have released their opening dates. Ski season is starting early this year and hat means it is time to hit the slopes this weekend.

Ontario’s popular ski resorts including Blue Mountain, Horseshoe Resort, Lakeridge Ski Resort, and more have announced their plans for the 2023-24 season, and opening day is sooner than you think!

Here’s what to know.

Horseshoe Resort

Horseshoe Resort will open its doors to the public a little bit early this year, on December 1st. And that’s because they’ve added over 100 new snowmaking guns to the resort’s existing infrastructure over the last two years.

Though not all of its winter activities will be ready for the season, you can definitely expect some downhill skiing this weekend.

For its opening weekend, it is important to note that lift tickets and rentals will be available for purchase on-site only.

There will be limited runs and lifts available and lift tickets will be available at a discounted price.

When: December 1st to 3rd from 9 AM to 4:30 PM
Where: 1101 Horseshoe Valley Road West in Barrie, Ontario

Lakeridge Ski Resort

The hills are ready and the conditions are perfect. Make your way to Lakeridge Ski Resort this weekend for the start of their ski season. They currently have a special four-hour lift ticket price for those ages 6 and up for $48 + tax.

When: December 2nd and 3rd from 10 AM to 9:30 PM

December 7th, Blue Mountain ski hills open for the season – enough said, just be ready!

Loch Lomond

Get ready for Loch Lomond’s ski season! Their projected opening is December 8th.

When: December 8th to 22nd from 10 AM to 4 PM, (hours subject to change there after)

Hockley Valley Resort

The countdown has begun for Hockley Valley Resort. Two more weeks until their slopes open!

When: Opening December 16th

You can now book your half-day, full day, and ski packages for December 9th. Sir Sam’s Ski/Ride is getting ready for the season!

Mount St Louis Moonstone

Gear up for an epic ski season! Mount St Louis Moonstone opens on December 2nd with six lifts, two magic carpets, 11 slopes and more.

The mountain terrain will be open for all levels, from novice to advanced. Tickets are available for $59+tax.

When: December 2nd from 9 AM to 4 PM
Where: R.R.4, 24 Mt St Louis Rd W – Coldwater, ON

Mount Baldy

There’s nothing bald about Mount Baldys ski hills!

They’ve been open for a few weeks, offering lessons, Magic Carpet spinning, and some park features. Tickets are only $20, according to their most recent Instagram post.

When: Saturdays & Sundays from 10 AM to 5 PM “Magic Carpet and Park features”
