This Alberta boardwalk trail is surrounded by a beautiful old-growth forest

From the Rocky Mountains to inner city parks, Wild Rose Country is rich with scenic routes and among them? The Miyo Mahkamikisi Trail in Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park.

A name that means “Good Journey” this 1 km trail is exactly that – a beautiful boardwalk with towering trees and lakeside views, but that’s there’s more!

Located northeast of Edmonton, the island also features an old-growth forest and a soft sand beach perfect for getting some fresh air, winding down, or breaking up an action-packed weekend.

While parts of the area are currently under construction there’s a ton to see and do.

Luckily, if you’d like to extend your stay (and better your chances of seeing the 230 species of birds), there’s also a campground with cozy cabins and tipis, as well as room for RVs, tents, and trailers.

Interested in checking it out? You can book your site on the Albera Parks website now – but don’t hesitate.

This boardwalk and the park itself are truly magical!
