From the Rocky Mountains to inner city parks, Wild Rose Country is rich with scenic routes and among them? The Miyo Mahkamikisi Trail in Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park.
A name that means “Good Journey” this 1 km trail is exactly that – a beautiful boardwalk with towering trees and lakeside views, but that’s there’s more!
Located northeast of Edmonton, the island also features an old-growth forest and a soft sand beach perfect for getting some fresh air, winding down, or breaking up an action-packed weekend.

While parts of the area are currently under construction there’s a ton to see and do.
Luckily, if you’d like to extend your stay (and better your chances of seeing the 230 species of birds), there’s also a campground with cozy cabins and tipis, as well as room for RVs, tents, and trailers.
