Simu Liu just shared his favourite Toronto restaurants & we’re here for this

Kim’s Convenience star turned Marvel superhero, Simu Liu is back doing the thing he loves the most – talking about Toronto. This time around, the beloved Canadian actor shared his top restaurants in the city in his latest interview with Destination Toronto.

As part of a new video campaign, You Gotta See What We See, Liu shares his outlook on Toronto, highlighting the diversity and uniqueness of Canada’s largest city, according to the release.

Toronto has played such an integral role in the launch of my career,” said Liu.

“I am thrilled to be a part of this campaign sharing my love of this city. I owe everything to the arts and theater scene here; It’s an incredible community for the exchange of ideas, cultural perspectives, and extraordinary stories.”

Liu is seen exploring the city’s most notable tourist attractions like the CN Tower and Casa Loma, and also getting his fitness on at Woodbine Beach, b-ball at David Crombie Park, and gymnastics at the Monkey Vault.

He is also seen at the newest local hub for Asian cuisine and drinks – Superfresh. Though he doesn’t go into details about his favourite restaurants, Destination Toronto managed to get the deets.

According to the release, Liu is a fan of Pai, recently shuttered Sabai Sabai, Patty King, Super Fresh, Khao San Road, Dialo, Fishman Lobster Clubhouse, Hong Shing, and The Alley for Bubble Tea.

Liu also gives a little shout-out to the Toronto Night Market, an Asian food market in Markham. “There are stalls where you can buy street food, play games, and eat really awesome food that reminds me of my childhood,” said the star.

Liu isn’t the only recognized Canadian taking part in the new campaign. Critically-acclaimed chef and owner of DaiLo Nick Liu, live and digital host for the Toronto Raptors Mariah Amber, Dakhota and Odawa content creator who focuses on Indigenous history, representation and more Santee Siouxx, and host and reporter on CTV’s ETalk and CP24 Breakfast Television Sonia Mangat.
