These cities in Canada are the world’s most popular destinations on TikTok

The algorithm loves Canada and we’ve got the numbers to prove it. Luggage storage app Bounce has released a TikTok Travel Index for 2022, ranking the most popular travel destinations in the world according to their TikTok views, and three cities in Canada have topped the charts.

TikTok is not only a source of entertainment but also a primary resource for users to discover new places and get inspiration for their next vacation.

The ranking is based on the total number of views that each city has attracted on TikTok.

The highest-ranking Canadian city on the TikTok Travel Index is Toronto in 9th place, with a staggering 17.1 billion views.

However, those numbers pale in comparison to Dubai — the city landed in 1st place with 81.8 billion total views.

The next city in Canada included in the ranking is Quebec City in 23rd place with 8.5 billion views, followed by Vancouver in 30th place with 6.0 billion views.

Canada is also home to one of the world’s highest-paid travel influencers on TikTok, Julia Thompson.

Thompson lives in Vancouver and makes videos about “hiking and backpacking adventures in some of the world’s most beautiful natural locations,” according to Bounce.

The TikToker rakes in approximately $2,701 per post and has 2.7 million followers.

If that’s enough to convince you to start a new career as a TikTok influencer, you can get a head start by visiting some of the world’s most popular travel destinations right here in Canada.
