Vancouver’s Aritzia Warehouse Sale is officially underway, with the Friends & Family Sale kicking things off a day early, and you would not believe the insane lineup that’s already trailing behind the Vancouver Convention Centre. Well, if you’re a warehouse sale veteran, you likely saw this coming. But for newbies like us, Vancouver’s dedication to the deal-snagging craft was next-level.
In fact, a member of the security team confirmed upon our arrival that the line went all the way back to The Westin Bayshore—and that was at 9 a.m. when we first arrived!
If you’re pretty averse to shopping and crowds, but still want to get in on the deals (50 to 90 per cent off everything), we’re here to break down our experience and provide a few (possibly) helpful pointers.
First things first, if you’ve never been to the sale before (or just need a refresher), don’t stress. There is plenty of signage and staff to point you in the right direction and get you where you need to be.
Outside, the line is fairly self-explanatory. Wait in line, reach the front of the Vancouver Convention Centre West, and head down the escalator to the first level to wait by the entrance. If you see a giant Aritzia shopping bag, you’ve made it to the entrance/exit.
In a word: long. Around 9:15 a.m., we talked to a couple of people standing near the front of the line who shared that they had been standing there since 4 a.m., and we’re sure there were others already inside who had spent the night in line. It wouldn’t be the first time that there were overnight shopping hopefuls.
When you first enter the sale, you’ll pass the bag check area, where shoppers with larger bags will be asked to leave their belongings while they shop.
You’ll then immediately see reusable bags you can grab to hold all of our finds. We’re not going to lie, it’s pretty disorienting to see people dragging bags and bags of clothes behind them at first. But once you lock in, it’ll become white noise in the background.
As this was our first warehouse sale in years, it was hard to know where to begin. There are racks and racks of clothing to go through, but it helps to have a list of items that you’re keeping an eye out for.
All the Super Puffs are to the right, so that’s a good place to start if you or someone you know needs a warm winter coat. The long versions are currently on sale for $175, which is a pretty great deal considering they retail for almost $400. The shorter styles are even less, and come in a range of fun colours in addition to the classic black.
Whenever you feel yourself getting a bit overwhelmed or overstimulated, pull out that notes app list. What do you truly need? What are your nice-to-haves? Are you looking for any gifts?
Sizing seems to be scattered throughout, though you’ll find clusters of clothes in the same size.
When in doubt, consult the list. It’ll help keep you focused and avoid buying anything you won’t actually wear.
In true Aritzia Warehouse Sale fashion, there are a couple of large changing room areas (labelled fitting rooms), though they are not private. They do have large mirrors in the middle, however, allowing shoppers to go through their bags in a designated area and try on their finds.
However, you’ll also see plenty of shoppers pulled over to the sides of the racks trying things on.
While there are no washrooms inside the actual sale, you can pop out to use the all-gender ones on level two of the Convention Centre West.
If you’re going to commit to the lines and scouring the racks, coffee and pastries feel pretty essential.
These are just a handful of some of the closest cafes you’ll find around the Convention Centre:
The Aritzia Warehouse Sale is an annual in-person experience, but you can always shop the online sale section if you’re not trying to brave any crowds.
And if you play your cards right, you might just find an influx of Aritzia wear at thrift/consignment stores like Turnabout in the coming weeks, as people hand down their warehouse sale finds that no longer work.
Of course, this is just our opinion, but here are our major takeaways:
Parking is available next door at the Convention Centre.
Accepted payment methods include cash, debit, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Apple Pay. Aritzia gift cards are not.
The 2026 Aritzia Warehouse Sale officially runs from Tuesday, Sept. 1 to Monday, Sept. 7, from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. from Tuesday to Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the remaining days.
Are you ready to line up?
