Well, folks if you rent your home we have some great news. And that is that Seattle has extended the eviction moratorium through June 30th, 2021. So as you probably know, this means property owners cannot evict tenants.

But the bigger part of this is that tenants cannot be given late fees or interest during the moratorium. However, tenants do legally need to pay rent. And with all this in mind, landlords have been encouraged to offer flexible payment plans. After all, it doesn’t serve any to have tenants more stressed than they already are.

It’s also worth mentioning that this extension is just for Seattle. Governor Jay Inslee hasn’t made a statement on whether the statewide moratorium will be extended past March. However, we have a feeling it will be. And the good news for everyone is that Seattle is expected to get $23 million in rental assistance from the federal government.

So we hope this news can relieve stress for some of you. And if it doesn’t affect you consider sharing this with someone who it might affect. If you’d like to learn more you can click here.
