Things are looking up in Washington as we move on to phase 3 of reopening. But with a new phase comes changes so be sure to keep reading to find out what’s new. After all, you want to be as up-to-date as possible because we all know things can change rapidly with this pandemic.

On Monday, March 22nd, Washington will enter phase 3 of the state’s “Healthy Washington” plan. This means that capacity for indoor spaces is moving up to 50% with a maximum number of 400 people. So that means restaurants, gyms and fitness centers, movie theaters and other businesses will fall into this category. Plus it’s worth mentioning that restaurants will be able to serve drinks until midnight. Yipee!

When it comes to sports, outdoor events in facilities with permanent seating can have up to 25% capacity. So in some really exciting news, that means the Mariners will be able to welcome fans for opening day! And these changes also apply to high school sports, rodeos, and other outdoor spectator events. Plus high contact sports like basketball, wrestling, and cheerleading can all resume under phase 3 as well.

All of these changes can only happen if people at said events and restaurants wear masks and practice social distancing. And as we’re sure you’re all aware these rules are subject to change. So that means counties will be evaluated every three weeks to make sure numbers are still falling within what’s allowed. We hope this news helps you start your weekend on a high note. And let’s all do our best to keep up the good work so that we can all get back to normal.
