Seattle’s oldest bar is officially back in business after it closed in 2020

At this point, we’re all quite used to the news of restaurant closures. But what about when they come back from the dead? That’s right folks Seattle’s oldest bar, Jules Maes Saloon is back. We don’t know about you guys but this is the good news we needed to start the weekend on a high note.

Raché Hemmelgarn had her first date with her husband here and now she owns the business. Understandably she couldn’t let this amazing and historic space disappear. After all, it’s closure was truly a huge loss to the city in 2020. So she made the brave and risky choice to save it and for that, we are extremely thankful.

Now Hemmelgarn is ready to do what it takes and wants to rejuvenate the business. So with that in mind, she’s hired a talented chef and spiffed up the restaurant. And as you might’ve guessed she is currently operating the restaurant on a takeout, delivery, and curbside pick-up basis.
