Brace yourselves, friends — we’re about to descend into ancient history! Scenic Caves Nature Adventures is a fascinating labyrinth of ancient caverns just two hours outside of Toronto.

You’ll get to venture 70 feet below the surface into a giant crevasse.

There you’ll find seventeen unique geological features that were naturally carved by glacial ice millions of years ago!

“Once home to the Petun First Nations people and currently situated within one of Canada’s 18 UNESCO sites, the rich landscape has much to offer,” says a description of the site.

“The rewards are plentiful with multiple panoramic vistas of Georgian Bay along limestone cliff edges.”

You’ll be traversing this rocky landscape all on your own, so hiking or running shoes are mandatory.

It’s an adventure that’s suitable for visitors of all ages, but be mindful that some areas have steep ground, uneven trails, and natural obstacles.

These self-guided trails are clearly marked, and you should give yourself around two hours to get the most out of your experience.

These caves are situated within a large nature park with so many activities to do all year round, including gemstone mining, a suspension bridge, mini golf, and trails for hiking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.

Believe it or not, Ontario is full of ancient caves and canyons to explore.

Mono Cliffs Provincial Park is less than an hour outside of Toronto and has a boardwalk through towering cliffs.

There’s also the majestic Ouimet CanyonBarron Canyon, and Elora Gorge, to name a few!
