Ryan Reynolds is no stranger to name-dropping his fave spots in Vancouver, and has become a sort of celebrity figurehead when it comes to advocating for the delicious eats and drinks in his hometown.
TV Writer & Showbiz Journalist Sam Cook took to Twitter to ask Reynolds for his top-notch recommendations, and the actor/business owner did not disappoint.
Minerva’s on 41st is all time favorite. Also amazing: Ask For Luigi on Alexander. (Steps from that clock) If you love ice cream as much as my family, try Rain Or Shine on 4th. The best bar in Vancouver is in my kitchen but I’m afraid we’re not accepting patronage at this time.

To start, no list of ‘Reynolds recs’ would be complete without Minerva’s, which has been a Kerrisdale staple for decades and received love from the actor on multiple occasions.
Known for their delicious pizzas, steaks, and classic Greek dishes – and of course, for being the actor’s “all-time fave” spot, it’s high time we all make our way to Minerva’s. If not for some souvlaki, then for their beautiful featured cocktails. (Do we smell a collab with Aviation American Gin?)

Another Vancouver hotspot for fans of traditional Italian fare – Ask for Luigi is another celebrated resto that’s earned the Reynolds stamp of approval. And not just Ryan’s! Blake Lively has also shouted out the restaurant in her Instagram story of her “4 favourite things in the world.”
Dessert
Alongside Ask for Luigi is ice cream from Rain or Shine, which is coveted by Vancouverites no matter the season – and the likes of Kiernan Shipka as well!
The homemade ice cream spot has dozens of locations scattered across Vancouver, but Reynolds seems partial to the one on 4th Avenue.

The tweet’s sendoff, of course, is a classic bout of Ryan Reynolds humour. He says “the best bar in Vancouver” is none other than his own kitchen. Looks like we’ll have to wait patiently for that invite.
