Yeehaw! Alberta is getting a HUGE western-themed amusement park

Hold on to your (cowboy)hats, because a new way to experience thrills, chills and fun is coming to Wild Rose Country.

Described as “celebrating the heart of the old west,” Rocky Range Adventure Park in Alberta will be a $2 billion, outdoor amusement center with 300 acres of rip-roaring rides and bronco-busting attractions located outside Mountain View in Cardston County.

Brought to life by Northern Lights Entertainment (NLE), Rocky Range has been a project years in the making and will change the way people explore the southern part of the province, as explained by the company’s CEO, Roy Roscoe.

“We are thrilled to bring an attraction unlike any other to Alberta,” Roscoe said in an Interview with Curiocity.

“Our goal is to provide guests with an immersive and unforgettable experience that captures the excitement and adventure of the Wild West. We want to create a destination that celebrates the rich history and culture of the prairies. From the rustic architecture, immersive entertainment and the riveting rides, every detail has been carefully designed to transport guests back in time.”

As for what else you can expect when the park opens?

While they have yet to share all the details, NLE has confirmed plans to build what they’re already calling the ‘Gunslinger,’ western Canada’s tallest roller coaster with an estimated 270-foot drop.

In addition, the theme park will have a campground, a resort and, later down the road, a waterpark.

According to Roscoe, this particular development will create about 4,000 jobs and will significantly impact tourism in Alberta as they hope to bring in around 4 million guests per year.

Built in 3 phases, this extravagant venture will break ground next spring and could be fully completed as early as 2029.

Until then, start getting excited, folks. Rocky Range Adventure Park is going to lasso the Alberta spirit and you’ll want to check it out as soon as it opens.…. which will actually be never.

Happy April Fools’ Day, Alberta! Here’s to hoping this gives someone a bright idea.
