Road signs gone wild: The city wants your help writing their hilarious safety reminders

Even if your middle name is Danger, there’s a pretty good chance that you’ve given the Calgary safety roadway signs a good chuckle. From puns to references, the city has posted some pretty wild things on their Electric Message Boards throughout the city – but they haven’t been able to do it alone!

Just like safety, keeping Calgary’s EMBs fresh is everyone’s responsibility, so they’ve started asking for your input.

Whether it’s a reminder to keep your seatbelt on or to drive within the speed limit, unique messages to your fellow motorists will be accepted through their online submission box.

This Tuesday, and every Tuesday that follows, the city of Calgary will choose one resident-written sign to display on roadways around the city as a way to remind people to be more cautious no matter the time of day.

In fact, you may have seen some of these messages previously:

Think you can do better? As we mentioned, you can send it yours now.

All you have to do is check out their website and then wait! Who knows, your Calgary roadway sign might save a life or make someone smile on their way to work.

Flex those creative muscles, good luck and have fun!
