Here’s how to observe Remembrance Day in Calgary this year

It won’t be long until November 11th returns, but how will you commemorate Remembrance Day in Calgary this year?

From moving ceremonies to museums, these are just a few events that are taking place in and around the city.

Hangar Flight Museum Remembrance Day Ceremony

This year, Calgarians are encouraged to attend the annual service held at the Hangar Flight Museum. If, of course, you are unable to attend, tune in to CTV and watch live footage of the moving morning service.

Field of Crosses

This November, honour our veterans, both the past and present, by attending the Field of Crosses ceremony on the 11th. Can’t make it during the day? There will also be a service after dark.

Remembrance Day at Studio Bell Calgary

This month, visit the Studio Bell National Music Centre between 10 am and 5 pm for a moving service featuring the Central Alberta Chamber Players, world-class bagpiper Bill Hawes, and singer-songwriter Tim Isberg.

When: Monday, November 11th, 2024

Time: 10 am to 5 pm
Cost: Free for veterans

National Remembrance Day Ceremony

One of the largest in Canada. Canada’s annual ceremony encourages people of all ages to honour those who have served in the military. This event will feature a performance of the Last Post, prayers, two minutes of silence, and a 21-gun salute.

Cost: Free

Remembrance Day Service

From The Last Post, a moment of silence, and memorial wreaths, Calgarians are encouraged to attend The Military Museums’ 2024 Remembrance Day Ceremony. This year, you can either attend online or in person
