Nestled between Chemainus and Ladysmith, Saltair, British Columbia is a small oceanside village with plenty of its own forested trails to explore if you’re heading to the Cowichan area, including at the beautiful Stocking Creek Park.
The park’s trails meander through the surrounding rainforest to a creek and cascading waterfall, which rushes above a boardwalk. So if you’re looking for the ideal view of the falls, head over the bridge over Stocking Creek on your short journey to the boardwalk.
Tucked off of Chemainus Road, visitors will find the boardwalk and stairs that overlook this amazing waterfall, which flows heavily every spring and fall, according to Tourism Cowichan.
In terms of amenities, the park has a picnic area, benches, a viewing platform, toilet facilities, and parking available on Find Place and Thicke Road, according to the CVRD.
So there you have it, BC! If you’re looking for a hidden gem waterfall destination in the picturesque Cowichan Valley, you know where to go!
How to get there: Take a ferry from Vancouver to Nanaimo and drive 29 minutes via the Trans-Canada Highway/BC-1 S.
