You can rent an entire private island just 5 hours from Calgary

Alberta is known for its mountains and lakes – but not for having many island getaways. Luckily, those looking for a tropical adventure won’t have to go too far to find it! Contrary to the belief that our southern neighbour is all fields and horses, Montana actually has a private island where you can relax under the sun – and you can rent it now!

Located on Flathead Lake (only 5 hours from Calgary’s city center), this unique Airbnb has 1,000 feet of water frontage, an isolated dock, and room for eight guests.

From swimming and kayaking to paddle-boarding and fishing, guests will be able to enjoy so much more than a view and some solitude during their long and luxurious stay.

Here, the water is blue, the decor is inviting and the opportunities are endless!

Whether you’re there to wind down or get active, Montana’s Emerald Island really has something for everyone and it practically comes to life in the summertime.

The only downside? Well, it certainly won’t be cheap if you plan on taking an intimate trip with one other person.

At $1,600 CAD per night, we’d recommend splitting this trip with a couple of close friends or family members – preferably, ones who know how to cook because Uber Eats certainly won’t deliver across the lake.

If you’re interested and would like to rent this stunning private island for yourself, you can check out the listing here!

There’s nothing like it.
